HTC Desire HD rooting

So I hopped on Android bandwagon. I had E71 until now. Symbian had become a little too old for me over time so I got me one of these bad boys. I think I am fairly happy with it so far.

I could not resist so I decided to root it so I could install some custom ROM. Bonus of rooting: firewall and adblocker to get rid of those stupid ads taking up the screen.

So I followed Cynogen guide for rooting. Everything was going smooth until I had to install USB drivers. They just would not work.

Everything had been going smooth until I had to install USB drivers. The guide mentions using Androis SDK drivers. Those do not seem to work. Instead I used HTC’s drivers as described here

Once rooted, I install Adblock and Droidwall and the damn ads were gone.
